Fatality Free Friday is a campaign that is ten years old this year.
Started by Russell White on the Gold Coast when he had ‘had enough’ of mates dying on the road, he started a movement.
Ten years on it was commemorated on Friday in Toowoomba with a lunchtime event at St Lukes Church grounds.
The emergency services had a show of support with a number of vehicles present.
Deputy Mayor Carol Taylor spoke at the event and was joined by Mayor Paul Antonio, Inspector Steve Angus of Police and Assistant Commissioner David Hermann of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service.
