Toowoomba Regional Council is encouraging young people to join the 6-week LEGO Literacy Club program that starts this weekend at Oakey and Pittsworth Libraries.
The program sessions are aimed at young people aged between 9 and 16 years.
LEGO Literacy Club is a play based program that encourages children to experiment, problem solve, create words and rhymes, and learn new vocabulary, practice letters and numbers using LEGO bricks.
The program uses playtime as an opportunity to develop the foundation of early literacy and family literacy skills between young people and their parents and carers.
The other aims of the program are to introduce robotics skills to young people and to share these skills with their communities.
