SAFE Quiz Night

Saturday June 16

It's got to be one of the things I like most. The quiz night! Working up a mental sweat with a bunch of your mates is one of the things I like most... especially when it's raising money for a great cause!

This year the SAFE quiz is being held at the Senior Citz. Centre on Saturday 16th June -  doors open 6.30 for a 7.30 start.

There will be the quiz (obviously) door prizes and a raffle. One of SAFE's volunteers, Brigitte Van Pee, has kindly made a beautiful animal themed quilt which will be used as the prize for the main raffle. Raffle tickets will only be available on the night of the quiz.

First, a bit about SAFE.

SAFE's mission is to rescue, sterilise, microchip, flea and worm treatment as many of our animals as possible.

The SAFE group was started in 2014 and during that time approximately 530 cats and kittens have been rescued, most of these have needed to  be sterilised. Approximately 225 were female so with an average of 4 kittens per litter the amount of kittens unborn is unfathomable.  It is estimated that just one male and female and their progeny over a period of 4 years could produce 2,107 kittens.

180 dogs have been rescued, many had to be de-sexed, microchipped, wormed and flea treatment. They are thoroughly checked for suitability to be re-homed and kept in foster care until they could be re-homed here in Esperance or elsewhere in the state.

The group is run by volunteers and fund-raising is regularly undertaken during the year – i.e. sausage sizzles, garage sales, cake stalls and, of course, QUIZ NIGHTS!

Bookings for the night are essential as the space has limitations and the organisers need to know how many tables and chairs will be required.

Please phone senior citizens or come in personally and register in the book.

There will be tea and coffee available during the entire quiz time and people bring their own nibblies... the room is well warmed and most comfortable.
