The State Government are preparing a waste strategy for Western Australia to help improve recycling and waste management across the state. Before a review is prepared the government are seeking public input.

If you have ideas about how to improve recycling or waste management around Esperance, please head to the online survey, complete a written submission or attend one of the workshops (unfortunately the closest one to Esperance is Kalgoorlie or Albany).

For more information please visit www.wasteauthority.wa.gov.au

“Reducing the amount of waste disposed of to landfill can generate significant economic opportunities for the Western Australian community - for every 10,000 tonnes of waste recycled, 9.2 full time equivalent jobs are created compared to only 2.8 jobs when waste is landfilled.”  - Environment Minister Stephen Dawson.
