Did you know this Gold Coast church was once a Revolving Aquarium & Restaurant!?

You may recognise the Surfers Paradise Anglican Church as you're passing through Isle of Capri...

But did you know that once upon a time it was a revolving aquarium & restaurant!?

Built in the '60s, the idea behind this GC restaurant was ahead of it's time.

Inside, fish tanks would surround the dining room while guests were treated to views of eels, octopus and various other sea life!

So why did it shut down? Some locals have said the restaurant was a victim of the '74 floods, others have recalled trespassers breaking in and smashing the tanks!
