We all know the Gold Coast is a bustling hub of entertainment and long stretches of golden sand. An attraction that may be slightly understated is the cities abundance of excellent fishing spots right on our doorstep. 

We've teamed up with our friends at Swiftco Trailers to bring you all the best fishing spots around the Gold Coast. And don't forget, to let one of their trusty trailers get you to the boat ramp. 

Coomera River

This one is a hidden gem! But shh, don't tell anyone!

Underneath the M1 crossing of the Coomera River, you'll find a small platform that is the perfect location to drop in a line. Regular fisherman suggest getting their very early or very late to ensure the bream and cod are biting! 

Bond University

Before you ask: What do fishing and a masters degree have a in common? Well, the answer is - It's where you'll find the perfect catch. 

Bond University at Varsity Lakes is a fisherman's dream. Although Bond University is private property, you can cross the bridge and BAM! You're on public land. 

There you'll find loads of big fish feeding near the tidal gates!

Broadwater

This is one of the most popular fishing joints on the Coast. There are loads of points to fish off, but one great spot is near the Old Grand Hotel. 

Deep hole is awesome too for early morning fishing for tailor, or at late at night searching for bream.

Cudgen Creek, Kingscliff

A part from being a picturesque location, Cudgen Creek it's a great spot to drop in a line. Balance on the rocks near the beach or mouth of the river, and you'll be pleasantly surprised with what you may find... and catch! 

Pine Lake, Elanora

For all those beginner fishing enthusiasts, Pine Lake is the ideal location. While the location isn't renowned for its catch, it is a great starting point to get used to holding the rod and reeling in small fish. 

Paradise Point Foreshore

If you're wandering underneath the Sovereign Island bridge, it won't be hard to find a small platform. Off the ledge is a great spot to go fishing, but also a very family-friendly spot with public toilets and parks close by. 

Tallebudgera Creek

The crystal blue waters at Tally creek make visibility of the cool and colourful array of fish great for little ones.

For the big kids, grab the tinny and cruise near the mouth of the creek to snag a few Flathead. You can then make your way towards the bridges for a chance at some really big fish. 

If you're wanting a bigger challenge, then underneath the bridge is a really deep hole. In the world of fishing, this pretty much means a gold mine.
