4 Steps That Could Save Someone's Life

R U OK Day

4 Steps That Could Save Someone's Life Pindara Private Hospital

It’s an important day today and a reminder to all Australian’s you've got what it takes to have a life changing conversation.

Mental illness is very common in our day and age. One in five (20%) Australians aged 16-85 experience a mental illness in any year and every day at least six Australians die from suicide and a further thirty people will attempt to take their own life.
It’s time to shine a light on mental health and help those fellow Australia’s who may be in need.

Here at Gold FM we are big supporters of this campaign and feel it is important to always check on the ones you love. These conversations can be hard at times so remember to ask the question using these 4 steps…

  1. Ask
  2. Listen
  3. Encourage action
  4. Check in

Don't ever forget that three simple words may effect people more than you think.

Some conversations are too big for families and friends to take on alone. There are many organisations out there that you can turn to, should you, or anyone you know – ever need some extra support. Click here for more information
