The Black Opal

If you love a good Shakespeare adaption, you need to head up to Tambourine Mountain this October to watch Jemina Macedo's new production, 'The Black Opal'. Based off Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (which you may remember the movie She's The Man was based off!), The Black Opal is laced with Aussie history, humour and drama, featuring original jazz music at Heritage Wines with a delicious meal and captivating show to go alongside!

If you haven’t heard much about Twelfth Night, it was considered one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies by his critics. It’s about illusion, deception, disguises, madness and the extraordinary things that love will make us do.

The Black Opal takes a leaf out of Shakespeare’s book with this adaption. The show is based at a cabaret club where jazz diva, ‘Lady Opal’ gives her patrons an escape from the harsh realities of the worst year of the great depression. Without giving too much away, you can expect to see someone go undercover as another gender where they receive an admirer. You'll be having lots of laughs and you'll witness a happy ending! What more could you ask for in a show?!

Excited? Here's when you can see it:

Date: Friday & Saturday evenings throughout October
Time: 7pm Fridays and 6pm Saturdays
Location: Heritage Wines, Mount Tambourine
Tickets: $95 for a two course, fine dining meal and full show

Want to go along? You can purchase your tickets here

Don't forget to get dolled up in 30's style for cheeky night out!
