Each year more than six million people make the trip to Munich for Oktoberfest, making it the world's largest beer festival.

It's also better known as the international holiday where you can drink as much beer as you'd like and where a lederhosen near the beach and not look like a lost german tourist.

With most of the festivities falling over this long weekend, we've gathered some of the best spots to enjoy Oktoberfest for 2017. All you need now, is a ridiculous outfit.

Cabana Lounge and Bar, Southport

These guys have actually been celebrating for little over a month now. Introducing the traditional German pretzels with beer-infused cheddar, topped with smoked salt and crispy bacon bits. Wash it down with Oktoberfest specials like a stubby of Becks or a shot of Jagermeister.

Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa, Surfers Paradise

The Marriott Resort and Spa is holding an Oktoberfest festival at their restaurant Citrique.

Their famous seafood buffet will have a German Twist, along with  German Cuisines and beer available. The festival will occur over 10 days with life entertainment on Fri/Sat Nights!

Bavarian Beer Cafe, Broadbeach

The Bavarian Beer Cafe is the creme of the crop when it comes to Oktoberfest parties. On Sunday 1st October, they'll throw the ultimate pre-labor day Sunday session with BBQ and brews.

House of Brews, Surfers Paradise

House of Brews are doing things a little differently this year. Introducing...  HOBtoberfest!
Running from this Friday until Monday, staff will be in costumes across the long weekend with a special German menu, live music and Bavarian style Australian craft beer presented by Oktoberfest Brisbane.

 German Club, Merrimac

This one is for the most traditional Oktoberfest party-goer. German food, beer, music (even cover songs in German!) - all under the German looking roof at Gold Coast German Club. In case you haven't noticed, it's German. Completely family friendly and the best costume watching you'll ever see. They're calling it a 'spektakuläre nacht'!! ('cause it's German).

Danke, Gold Coast!
