Get your creative juices flowing and your camera at the ready, because the The Goulburn Valley Community Fund’s #ShepPROUD video competition is back for another year!
The competition is calling all youth between the ages of 15 and 25 years to upload an upbeat video about Greater Shepparton for their chance to win $4000.
In less than three minutes, tell a story to encourage positive stories about Shepparton at a time when the region faces some negativity around social and educational issues affecting young people.
Last year, the Youth Video Competition winners (pictured) uploaded a catchy, and humorous hip hop song about Shepparton.
Matt, Claire and Brendan Macgill of Lemnos produced the entertaining 3 minute music video which in the words of eldest sibling Matt Macgill, “ is a tale telling our favourite pastimes and quirks of Shep, Shepp, Shepparton.”
Matt, 23, and his teenage siblings have grown up on a farm on the outskirts of Shepparton and sing about real cows, fake cows, Mr D’s and agriculture, namely apples and pears, and highlight many iconic venues and businesses synonymous with their upbringing.
But don't worry if you're video skills aren't up to scratch, the videos will be judged on the positive content and storytelling, not the quality of the video itself.
Key Dates to put in your diary:
