If you've walked down the The Mall, Kennedy Lane and past Railway Roundabout at night, you may have been in awe of their bright, illuminated, shade of purple. But why is it lit up?
The Hobart City Council has draped the town in purple to support the Avner Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
Now its seventh year, the foundation will host their annual 'Put Your Foot Down' walk this Sunday 8th April to support those past and present that have dealt with this crippling illness.
This year, the walk will take place at the picturesque Long Beach Reserve in Lower Sandy Bay from 10am and concluding at noon.
The 4km fun and family-friendly walk will raise funds for search for the disease.
Over $1,000,000 has been raised for pancreative cancer research from the walk conducted across the country.
To be a part of the walk, or to donate, visit the website.
