What is your favourite nickname given to you? 

A: Spunkrat! Ohh you mean by other people… TANNY WANNY WOO

A: King Edward Park

If you were Newcastle Lord Mayor, what new landmark would you bring to Newcastle? 

A: Christ the Redeemer from Brazil and put him atop of Fort Scratchley so tourists won’t be bashed or robbed when they seek the perfect instagram pic. What a tourist drawcard!! 

Which is better - Texts or Calls? 

Texts when sober. Calls when you need to tell someone just how much you love them after a bubble or two.

Which is better – Dogs or Cats?  

A: HELLOOO!!!! See emoji question!!! (insert emoji eye roll)

What’s your favourite breakfast food? 

A: BACON!!!!!! with a side of more bacon ..must be crispy !!

A: Steve, EP Nicky & Ryzy

A: Steve EP Nicky & Ryzy when they’re having their special time of the month days (what a punish)

If you weren’t working in radio, what would your job be?

A: Either a Victoria’s Secret Model or a teacher. Probably more suited to a teacher if I’m really honest.

A: Some online hater called me a "Flogg" once that was special

A: Disneyland

What is your favourite nickname given to you?

A: A loving 'fan' once called me a ##### [Editor’s note: Ryzy's answer had to be censored for legal reasons].

What is your favourite spot in Newcastle/The Hunter to visit?

A: Redhead Beach aka Gods country. Literally my favourite place on earth and where you'll find me with my family when I'm not at work.

A: Is IKEA a landmark?!

What’s your favourite breakfast food?

A: Bacon n Eggs on buttered Sourdough... The bacon has to be rindless and well-cooked and the eggs need to be nice and runny. Get in ma belly! Yummm

What do you love about your job?

A: T&S will hate me for saying this as it sounds like I'm painting them as old! But I grew up in Newcastle listening to both Tanya & Steve on their respective successful breakfast shows - I was fascinated by them; and they gave me a huge appreciation for art of radio in being able to convey so many emotions for any given listener (they'd have you laughing one minute then crying the next). Fast forward a few years later and now I get the chance to work on air with these two radio legends whom I've respected and looked up to for years and it truly is a great honour.

What do you hate about your job?

A: 4am alarm clocks!

If you weren’t working in radio, what would your job be?

A: Stay at home Dad. My wife's a Doctor, she could make the coin and I could surf all day... ah wait sorry I meant 'look after the kids'

EP Nicky

Describe yourself in one word…

A: Fun-sized 

What is your favourite nickname given to you?

A: “EP Nicky” (which stands for Executive Producer… but some people thing my name is “EP” – short for Epatha or something haha) 

What is your favourite spot in Newcastle/The Hunter to visit?

A: The Hunter Valley Vineyards. Haven’t ever had a bad time there. Don’t mind a small tipple there with friends! Hehe. 

If you were Newcastle Lord Mayor, what new landmark would you bring to Newcastle?

A: The Hollywood Sign, but I’d adjust it to say ‘Newcastle’… or ‘Tanya & Steve’ (for good marketing haha). I watch way too many American movies clearly.

Which is better - Texts or Calls?

A: Calls. I’m a total have-a-chat.

Which is better – Dogs or Cats?

A: Cats. Don’t hate me, I know it’s not the popular choice. 

What’s your favourite breakfast food?

A: Smashed avocado on sourdough. With a side of bacon, of course. 

What do you love about your job?

A: I love the people, the pace and the pay offs (when I become a PI investigator and track down a guest for the show & it works out great on air!)

What do you hate about your job?

A: Going to bed when the suns still up. Haha. Honestly, I sometimes hear kids playing street cricket outside when I’m getting into my pj’s - the hours are nuts. #zombielife 

If you weren’t working in radio, what would your job be? 

A: I’d be doing law or teaching dance. Haha. Random – but true.

A: Sophisticated

What is your favourite nickname given to you? 

A: Dadda

A: Shoal Bay

If you were Newcastle Lord Mayor, what new landmark would you bring to Newcastle? 

A: A theme park like Dreamworld. Maybe on the old BHP site.

A: Definitely calls.

A: Always liked cats over dogs.

A: Can't go past bacon and eggs. 

What do you love about your job?

A: Sharing the local news stories that matter to thousands of people every morning. And doing it alongside a bunch of great people I genuinely like. 

What do you hate about your job? 

A: 3:05am alarm clock. It's brutal.

If you weren’t working in radio, what would your job be?

A: I'm a bit of a plane nerd, so something to do with aviation.

Describe yourself in one word… 

A: Sports-mad

What is your favourite nickname given to you? 

A: Warnie – Adam Gilchrist once told everyone I could spin a cricket ball more than anyone he’d ever seen (a story I love to crowbar into any conversation!)

What is your favourite spot in Newcastle/The Hunter to visit?

A: Can you narrow it down? Corlette, Nobbys, the wineries, a Knights or Jets game… too many to pick from.

If you were Newcastle Lord Mayor, what new landmark would you bring to Newcastle? 

A: A massive new multi-purpose indoor sporting stadium at Broadmeadow. If the Hunter Sports and Entertainment Precinct ever gets up I’m claiming it.

A: Stay-at-home Dad watching Fox Sports and re-runs of Caddyshack. Needless to say, the wife and kids are very happy I’m here!
