SLICK 7 RACEWAY - BOTH DAYS

Slick 7 Raceway in Bakers Creek is always a good idea for kids to have a bit of fun on the weekend. Did you know you can host parties for up to 16 people as well? You can give the kids a go for only $5 for 15 minutes, plus $1 slot car hire. The Slick 7 Raceway is located on Temples Lane and open between 10am-4pm weekends.

SARINA SUGAR SHED – BOTH DAYS

Sarina Sugar Shed tours are a delight for all ages! On the tour you will see the special miniature sugar processing and distilling equipment that has been sourced from all over the world! Along with the processing mill, there are multimedia presentations, souvenir shop, picnic areas, easy parking and wheelchair-friendly access. Tours run at 9.30am, 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm.

TIMEZONE – BOTH DAYS

There’s plenty of excitement for the kids at Timezone, where they can play video games, a little Air Hockey, bowling and even Laser Tag. It opens up from 9am until late at Canelands.

FAMILY ART SUNDAYS AT ARTSPACE MACKAY – SUNDAY

Every Sunday, bring the whole family into Artspace for Christmas paper chain making! Recycle pages from old books and magazines, cut and draw your own holiday decorations the family can enjoy. What a great way to spend the day - you can stay a couple of minutes, or a couple of hours - enjoy the exhibitions on show and have a yummy breakfast or lunch in Foodspace Cafe.

GO BOWLING – BOTH DAYS

Why not get out and take the kids bowling? Forget about the old wooden lanes, Mackay Leisure Centre now have the synthetic lanes which have glowing strips for a bit more fun. Bumper bowling is always fun for smaller kids too. 

BLUEWATER LAGOON – ALL WEEKEND

Cool down and splash around with the whole family at the three-tiered Bluewater Lagoon. Overlooking the picturesque Pioneer River in the heart of the Mackay City Centre, the kids will love the waterfall, drop-bucket and wading pool!

THE TRIPLE M SATURDAY MORNING MARKETS

Famous for its Local Produce, Hot Coffee and Lots of Locals out looking for bargains. It's on at the Mackay Showgrounds

MELBA HOUSE IN MARIAN – ALL WEEKEND

Originally built in 1882-1883 for the first Marian Mill Manager, Charles Armstrong and his wife a much-loved opera singer, Dame Nellie Melba. Today, Melba House features a memorabilia display dedicated to Nellie and houses an extensive range of locally handcrafted gifts and unique souvenirs. 

OFF-LEASH DOG AREAS – BOTH DAYS

There are now five off-leash dog areas in the Mackay region. The sites are located at Camilleri Street Park in Eimeo, Bucasia Beach, Northern Far Beach, North Mackay Dog Park at the Gooseponds and Campwin/Sarina Beach. Why not take your dog out for a stroll this weekend and let them explore one of these areas freely.

AIRLIE BEACH MARKETS – SATURDAY

On every Saturday morning however it coincides with the arrival of the cruise ship the Sea Princess. This means there’s going to be a lot more activity and even more stalls to browse through. It’s along the Airlie Beach foreshore until 1pm.
