The City of Bunbury RoadWise committee is participating in the 2018 Shine a Light on Road Safety campaign. The Shine a Light on Road Safety campaign aims to raise awareness of the need to prevent deaths and injuries on our roads. In support of the campaign, the City of Bunbury is lighting up the Koombana Footbridge.

Bunbury RoadWise Chairperson Cr Karen Steele said supporting the Shine a Light on Road Safety campaign was yet another way for the City of Bunbury to raise awareness of local road safety issues.

“The Koombana Footbridge is a new local landmark in the City passed by on average 12,000 motorists each day,” she said.

“By lighting up the footbridge, and promoting the City’s support for the Shine a Light on Road Safety campaign, we hope to keep road trauma and its wider impact on our local community, at the forefront of people’s minds.

“Residents can show their support for the Shine a Light on Road Safety campaign on Friday 4 May by driving with their headlights turned on and encouraging family and friends to do the same.”
