Busselton and other south west residents can make the 55th Festival of Busselton one of the best yet by offering to help organise or run an event next January.

The Festival committee now has professional event managers on board and their job is to remove the drudgery and paperwork from the shoulders of volunteers.

So, if you'd like to see a new event held during the next Festival or wish to help out at an event, contact the Festival via its Facebook page or through Festival president Bernie Masters on 0408 944 242 or [email protected]

The Festival committee has agreed the following events will take place next January but no extra helpers are needed for them to proceed: log chops at Vasse, outdoor movies in Busselton and Dunsborough, petticoat lane, children's treasure hunt, closing night concert and fireworks.

The benefits of having a packed Festival program are that locals and visitors will have a wide range of activities and events to choose from, making the Festival a more enjoyable experience for all family members.

If someone has an idea for a new event, the Festival coordinators will assist by liaising with the City of Busselton and seek approvals, while the Festival committee will provide loads of free publicity in the  program booklet, online through the event Facebook page and website, and through the Busselton Dunsborough Mail.
