Music lovers do not have to travel far when the region’s very own philharmonic orchestra will lead the audience on a musical journey through the beautiful Ferguson Valley on Sunday, April 8.

The Ferguson Music trail, now in its fourth year, combines exquisite classical music with the opportunity to taste wines or beer at participating wineries and brewery or enjoy morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea while members of the Philharmonic South West entertain with diverse performances.

From beautiful brass and saxophone to castanets and strings, from baroque soloists to jazz and blues, the varied program has something to offer for all ages and musical tastes.

The day will kick off at 10am at both Ferguson Farmstay and Lyndendale Gallery and continues with small groups performing at 11am at Evedon Park and Ferguson Hart Estate.

At 12 noon, Green Door and the Wellington Cottages are the place to go before visiting Ferguson Falls and Wild Bull Brewery at 1pm.

A 2pm a piano solo at Carlaminda French Bistro leads up to the whole orchestra performance at St Aidan’s at 3pm, which every year is a highlight of the day.

Philharmonic South West is a community-based orchestra with members from Margaret River to Harvey combining their talent and love of music to present music of a high standard to its audience.

The event is free and people are welcome to follow the trail for the day or just attend a couple of performances.
