The Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre’s newly launched Youth Performance Company “BREC YOUTH” is hosting open auditions on 20th May for the company’s performance debut of a new show called The Shoes That Sang.
The Shoes That Sang is BREC YOUTH’s first original production that will reimagine a host of fairy tales coupled with original songs. From Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson to Disney animation and live action re-makes, BREC YOUTH will create a new modern fairy tale by smashing the old ones together.
BREC YOUTH is looking for performers aged 15-25 years old to take part in this project, which rehearses between June and August with a presentation in BREC’s Cube Theatre at the end of August.
The project is a unique opportunity to work with professional director Katt Osborne. Katt is a Perth-based director who brings a wealth of experience in directing new theatre. She is currently a Black Swan State Theatre Company Resident Artist and has recently returned from working on a show at London’s Old Vic Theatre.
