Australia Day Events In North Queensland- Everything That's Happening Near You

It's time to celebrate everything great about Australia, so get along to these local events to join in the festivities! 

BURDEKIN
The Australia Day Awards Evening will be held at the Burdekin Theatre tonight at 7.00pm. Celebrations will include the presentation of the 2019 Australia Day Awards and Australian Citizenship Ceremony as well as local entertainment, cutting of the Australia Day Cake and complimentary refreshments provided.

Tickets are $3 and can be purchased from Council’s Customer Service Centre or the Burdekin Theatre website. 

INGHAM
Gather at the Shire Hall on Lannercost Street for the festivites which begin at 9am. Morning tea will be included as well as an Australiana Concert, Raffles, Australia Day Awards, and Citizenship Ceremony. 

BOWEN
Join locals for the Australia Day ceremonies to celebrate the achievements and contributions of individuals and organisations. Official awards ceremony will start at 10.30am at the Bowen PCYC followed by a light lunch at 12.00pm

TOWNSVILLE
Townsville City Council will host Australia Day celebrations starting at 6.45am with a Fun Run raising funds for Give Me 5 For Kids at Jezzine Barracks. After the run, stick around for a free Aussie Breakfast (for the first 500 people). After breaky the Australia Day Awards Ceremony will kick off around 8:30am.  The Great Australian Bites event from 12 noon to 4pm at Strand Park will be a great one for local foodies. Try multicultural food, while the kids enjoy a heap of free entertainment.
