Geelong captain Joel Selwood is the round five Triple M Footy Cbus Player of the Week.
Selwood produced a virtuoso performance against St Kilda which saw him accrue a career-high 43 disposals, of which 22 were contested, as well as eight marks, nine tackles, nine clearances and a crucial goal.
His side was seriously challenged in the third quarter at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, as the Saints skipped out to a 15-point lead.
But, sensing the danger, the inspirational skipper flicked the switch and turned the game on its head.
He racked up a colossal 30 second-half disposals as the Cats booted 11 of the last 14 goals to run out 38-point winners and preserve their undefeated start to the year.
Given Selwood’s partner-in-crime Patrick Dangerfield was named the player of the week in round three, there’s little wonder why the Cats are sitting pretty in second spot on the ladder with a 5-0 record.
