The Annual Royal Hobart Show is on again this year and is packed full of entertainment, activities and unique hands-on learning experiences that will keep the whole family amused.

The Royal Hobart Show is hosted by the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania and offers something for everyone to enjoy. Come along and experience a place where country meets city and celebrate all things Tasmanian.
Immerse yourself in classic fun family favourites and some exciting NEW entertainment. This year The Royal Hobart Show presents The Human Cannonball, The Wheel of Death, Noah's Racing Pigs, virtual reality farm, Pandara Kelpies, Tasmanian whip cracking competition, cattle fancy dress, spinners and weavers demonstrations, bee keeping, cow milking, sheep shearing, hands on activities in the Life on the Farm section, the petting zoo in the animal nursery, The Mercury 'Face on the Page', Draught Horse displays and so much more!

A LITTLE BIT MORE:
Show competitions ranging from animals and homecrafts to art and photography are still open to entries. One new section that premiered last year and is making a return to this year’s show is the ferret competition with seven different classes for competitors to win in as well as the award for best overall in the show.
The woodchopping and beef cattle sections have already closed but entries are still currently open for everything else.
A map and a guide will be released on the show website closer to October 23.

WEDNESDAY 23 OCTOBER – OPENING DAY OF THE SHOW + SCHOOL GROUP DAY
10am – 3pm
The first day of the four-day long festival and traditionally the day several of the schools around Hobart and Southern Tasmania visit the show.
THURSDAY 24 OCTOBER – HOBART SHOW DAY (PUBLIC HOLIDAY)
9am – 5pm
The first full length day of the show with everything in full swing.
FRIDAY 25 OCTOBER – FIREWORKS NIGHT
9am – 9pm
The longest and most action-packed day of the Show. The Boys and Girls Pageant for children aged from 0 – 16 with a theme of ‘Agricultural Fun Fashion’ will be held during the day and, as always, there will be fireworks in the evening to cap the day off.
SATURDAY 26 OCTOBER – FAMILY DAY + DISCOUNT COUPON DAY
9am – 5pm
The final day of the show. Savings on showbags and other things on offer at the show are available to those who have coupons, coupons will be available at the show grounds as well as in the show magazine inserted in the Mercury during the week of the show.
There will also be animal exhibitions and shows held on Saturday still left to see.
